Biography:

Troy Martin is a director at Ookla, specializing in mobile and wireless technologies. When Troy is not designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing wireless networks, he can be found teaching others about the art and science of Wi-Fi in classes around the world. With over 30 years in networking, Troy has delivered wireless solutions in typical wireless settings as well as in more demanding environments such as mines, refineries, and power-generating plants. He is passionate about connecting things without wires and is thrilled to be part of the IoT explosion. Troy is a P.Eng. who holds Bachelor degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science along with several industry certifications, most notably the CWNE #90, CWISE #002, CCIE #20999, and CISSP. Troy lives in the Canadian Rockies and spends much of his time snowboarding or cycling in the mountains.
