
Jun Yamaguchi
Representative Director, Cityroam Association
Biography:
Jun Yamaguchi has worked on internet business and related initiatives with cable television operators and radio broadcasters in Japan, with a particular focus on collaboration with local communities and support measures for disaster preparedness and response. Since 2017, he has also served as a Co-Manager and helped launch the Next Generation Hotspot Special Interest Group (NGHSIG), the predecessor initiative to the Cityroam Association, fostering collaboration among stakeholders and supporting early discussions around next-generation roaming and interoperability.
He currently serves as Representative Director of the Cityroam Association, a Japan-based organization advancing OpenRoaming adoption and ecosystem growth. Through Cityroam, he brings together network operators, enterprises, government agencies, academic institutions, and innovators to accelerate interoperable Wi-Fi roaming, improve connectivity experiences, and support new use cases in local communities. Jun continues to focus on practical deployment, ecosystem partnerships, and international engagement to strengthen the OpenRoaming community in Japan.
