Biography:

Eric Schaefer brings more than 20 years of experience in the cable and telecommunications industries to his role as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Communications, Data and Mobility for Comcast Cable. He is responsible for leading the Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Voice and consumer wireless businesses, which have more than 20 million Internet customers and more than 10 million Voice customers.

In this role, he oversees the development and technical teams that design, develop and bring products to the market, and then manage the products’ performance to ensure growth. Eric’s team also manages the growing number of Xfinity WiFi hotpots, the partnership with Verizon Wireless and the Company’s groundbreaking Internet Essentials program, which provides low-cost Internet service to low income families.

Previously, as Senior Vice President for Wireless Product Management, Eric was instrumental in launching Comcast’s partnership with Verizon Wireless, leading deployment and execution of national sales, systems and product rollout. He also had a number of additional roles with Comcast including Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the regions serving New York and Philadelphia designated market areas (DMAs), where he maximized marketing programs to improve customer consideration and response rates, Senior Vice President of Sales and Sales Operations, where he restructured national sales strategy and deployment, and Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing in both the Chicago and Detroit DMAs.

Before joining Comcast in 2001, Eric was a Vice President and General Manager at Verizon Wireless and PrimeCo Personal Communications, and a National Manager for Customer Service at Silo, a former national retail electronics seller.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from State University of New York at Potsdan.
