Biography:

Jim Palmer heads the Design Team for RUCKUS Managed Networks at RUCKUS Networks, focusing on delivering top-notch network designs tailored to each customer’s specific needs. He ensures that every design is performance-optimized, avoiding unnecessary components, so customers receive exactly what they need for their network solutions. Before joining the RMN team, Jim was a team lead in the TME organization and a Senior Solutions Architect for the Business Development team.

With 31 years of experience in wireless communications, Jim has held various technical roles. Before joining RUCKUS Networks, he was a Network Engineer at Denver International Airport, specializing in wireless technologies. He also worked at BearCom in the Technical Services Group, where he focused on custom products, led the national repair depot, and installed radio hardware. Prior to BearCom, Jim served for seven years in the US Army as a two-way radio specialist.

Jim is a Certified Wireless Networking Expert (CWNE) #304 and holds certifications in Ekahau Design #101, Ekahau Troubleshooting #9, and Ekahau Master #31. He also holds various certifications from RUCKUS Networks and has a Commercial Radio License and a General Class Amateur Radio License from the US FCC.
