Biography:
Mik Cox leads technology innovation at Plume, defining the next generation of intelligent connectivity solutions for Service Providers worldwide. In his role, Cox transforms frontier research into carrier-grade technology that delivers more reliable, proactive, and personalized Wi-Fi experiences. His focus areas include the responsible adoption of AI, self-healing networks, and the development of a network intelligence operating system built for the future of connectivity.
Before joining Plume, Cox served as CTO at Ubiety Technologies. He developed the company’s RF device detection algorithms and architected its cloud-based data ingestion pipeline, creating the world’s first AI system that determines presence using wireless signals from personal devices.
Cox also worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he led an innovation team that created the Open Source Rover project, built NASA’s first Alexa skill, and delivered production-scale systems spanning IoT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and applied AI. His work has earned a Government Innovation Award, and he has been featured as a keynote speaker at major industry events.
