Biography:

Lakshmi Thanayankizil is the Connected Vehicle and IoT Feature Owner at General Motors. She has 10+ years of progressive responsibility, operational and leadership, in Vehicle Connectivity. At GM, she has the led the execution and introduction strategy for multiple Connectivity features, including 4G LTE Hotspot, DSRC, Wireless Miracast, and Hotspot. Lakshmi has also been leading the Connectivity standardization activities in GM, and has held multiple standard related leadership positions including the Vice-Chair of the Automotive and DSRC Groups in WFA. Lakshmi received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, and is the holder of more than 50 patents/ ROIs, 1 Book and 20 Publications in the areas of Vehicular Communication. She was recently recognized as “Technology Rising Star” and by STEM WOC, and by the NSF ADVANCE Organization for her contributions.
